Which sports equipment can we check in as regular baggage on AirAsia?
Sports Equipment Fee is applicable to Surfboards, Snowboards, Bicycles, Scuba, Golf and Snow Skiing gear. Any other sporting equipment (that is not stated earlier) is accepted as part of the regular baggage allowance.
The following sports equipment is accepted as part of checked baggage. Please note the equipment listed below is not exhaustive. Instructions are to serve as guidelines:
ANGLING/FISHING
• In a recognized angling rod case or bag.
• Rods and reels contained in a case and one bag with fishing tackle, landing net and fishing boots
ARCHERY
• In a standard bow and arrow case.
• One bow, one quiver and arrows
CRICKET
• In recognized cricket coffins or team bags.
• Bats, wickets, pads and balls packed in 1 coffin or bag
FIELD HOCKEY
• In a standard team kit bags not exceeding maximum baggage dimensions.
• Sticks, balls and pads in one equipment bag
ICE HOCKEY
• In a recognized ice hockey kit or team bag.
• Team kit including sticks.
LACROSSE
• In a recognized team or kit bags.
• Lacrosse sticks in one equipment bag.
TEN PIN BOWLING
• Must be in a non rolling carry case.
• Bowling case with bowling balls and shoes.
TENNIS/BADMINTON
• In a standard single or multiple racket kit bag.
• Rackets and balls/shuttle
WATER SKIING EQUIPMENT
• In a recognized water skiing bag.
•one pair of standard water skis or one slalom water ski
WINDSURFING EQUIPMENT
• In a recognized windsurfing bag.
• One board not exceeding 277cm/109inches
ALL OTHER SPORTING ITEMS
The following items should not be packed in sporting travel cases:
• sport clothes
• sports holdalls and bags
• smaller items or accessories such as football shin-pads
We will accept these as part of the normal checked baggage allowance.
