AirAsia India celebrated its grand launch in the presence of AirAsia Group CEO , Tony Fernandes, AirAsia India CEO, Mittu Chandilya , Chief Advisor, AirAsia India , Ratan Tata, Non- Executive Chairman, AirAsia India, S. Ramadorai and Board Member , AirAsia India, R. Venkataramanan. The media was addressed on AirAsia India’s journey and successful launch of operations. Amidst rising potential for air travel, AirAsia India reemphasized its commitment to creating a flurry in the market by making air travel accessible to all while generating employment opportunities.
The board members were a greeted by an entrancing Chendamelam performance before heading to the Kempegowda International Airport. Along with the board members, the AirAsia family painted Bengaluru City red with the branded bus which was lead by a convoy of bikes waving the AirAsia flag. The opulent journey created an exhilarating experience for the on-lookers. Few lucky passengers had the honor to share the moment with the board members and the AirAsia team on the flight from Bengaluru to Goa.
Upon arrival at Goa International Airport, the Deputy CM Francis D'souza, along with local officials and industry leaders including Kirit Maganlal, Chairman, CII - Goa and Atul Pai Kane, Past Chairman, CII - Goa welcomed Tony Fernandes, Mittu Chandilya and Ratan Tata. The mayor of Vasco, Bhavana Bhosale handed Tony Fernandes the key to the city of Vasco as a symbolic gesture to welcome AirAsia to Goa.
