Eight kilometres off the coast of Sabah lies the island of Labuan, part of the Federal Territory of Labuan that includes six other smaller islands. To many people Labuan is known as an offshore international financial sector and a duty free shopping haven, while the scuba diving community knows it as the “wreck diving capital” of Malaysia, thanks to its four famous wrecks – the American Wreck, the Australian Wreck, the Cement Wreck and the Blue Water Wreck. Lovers of the sea may want to check out the International Sea Sports Complex, or visit the water villages of Bebuluh and Patau-Patau. Prepare your cards and cash as the shopping here is an absolute delight. Plenty of bargains can be found at Labuan Weekend Tamu, OKK Awang Besar and Financial Park Complex.
