AirAsia & AirAsia X begin operations at klia2 on 9 May

  • Arrive at klia2 3 hours prior to departure
  • Perform self-check in via web or mobile
  • Strict enforcement of only one (1) cabin baggage per guest

SEPANG, 7 May 2014

AirAsia would like to remind all guests that all AirAsia & AirAsia X flights will be fully operating from klia2 on 9 May 2014 (Friday) onwards.

It is highly advisable for all guests with flights departing from the new airport to arrive 3 hours prior to departure of their flights and clear all travel formalities as early as possible, as the new klia2 covers a large area and additional time is required to get from one point to another in the airport.

Guests are recommended to perform self check-in, available via web or mobile, before arriving at the airport. Self check-in is available from 14 days and up to 1 hour prior to departure for all AirAsia flights, and up to 4 hours prior to departure for AirAsia X flights.

Baggage drop counters at klia2 opens 3 (three) hours before scheduled time of departure, and closes 1 (one) hour before scheduled time of departure for all international and domestic flights.

The airline continues to strictly enforce the ‘one cabin baggage policy’ to ensure smooth boarding and disembarkation process at klia2.

AirAsia’s ground staff will be available to assist guests and ensure a smooth transition to the new airport. AirAsia will also deploy additional volunteers to assist guests at the new airport.
