Travel to Chiang Rai
At the northern tip of Thailand is scenic Chiang Rai, a place famous for escaping the daily grind with its spectacular landscapes. Several waterfalls are located not far from the city, including Kun Korn and Prong Prabat. If relaxation is what you seek, then go to Huai Hin Fon and Pha Soet to take a dip at the hot springs. Find your moment of enlightening clarity by visiting temples such as the original Emerald Buddha Temple (Wat Phra Kaew/Wat Pa Yia) and the modern White Temple (Wat Rong Khun). Rich in cultural diversity, the city opens the door to a treasure trove of information, further complemented by its warm-hearted people and a colourful myriad of traditions. The Hilltribe Museum & Education Center is a good place for an introduction to Mien, Hmong, Lisu, Karen, Lahu and Akha tribes of Chiang Rai. The ‘Golden Triangle,’ consisting of borders of Thailand, Myanmar and Laos, is a vast natural wonder surrounding the great Mekong River and easily accessible from Chiang Rai. Whatever you’re planning on your daily travel itinerary in Chiang Rai, it will definitely be worth your while.
