Special guests

Every guest is special, but we go the extra mile for the extra special guest.

Unaccompanied Minors (UM)

Any guests under 12 years old on the day of travel are not permitted to travel unaccompanied. They must travel with an adult of 18 years old and above.

Young Passenger Travelling Alone (YPTA)

Guests from 12 - under 16 years old are considered to be YPTA and therefore are able to travel unaccompanied upon parent or guardian completing and signing our Release and Indemnity form for acceptance of YPTA at the check-in counter. We require the parent or guardian to remain at the airport until the flight is airborne. YPTA will not be allowed to accompany a minor under 12 years old.

Guests from 16 - 18 years old may travel without completing any forms and are treated as adults; however, they will not be allowed to accompany guests under 12 years old.

Pregnant guests

Guests who are pregnant up to 27 weeks may travel with us by completing our AirAsia/AirAsia X Liability Statement at our check-in counters.

Guests who are pregnant between 28 and 34 weeks will need to submit a doctor’s letter or a medical certificate confirming the number of weeks of pregnancy. The letter or certificate must not be dated more than 30 days from the date of travel. Guests are also required to complete our AirAsia/AirAsia X Liability Statement at our check-in counters.

Guests who are 35 weeks pregnant or more will not be allowed to travel with AirAsia/AirAsia X.

Guests with reduced mobility (Wheelchair / ambulift assistance)

We want to serve our guests the best we can. To ensure we understand your needs, kindly contact us via Live Chat or call our call center after booking your flight and at least 48 hours prior to your scheduled time of departure.

There will be no charge for checked-in wheelchair, though the assistance provided is chargeable. Wheelchair service for all AirAsia X flights (D7) is provided free of charge.
