KUCHING, 18 June 2014
AirAsia presented the Waran Perjalanan Udara Awam (WPUA) Carnival here today, a celebration to bring the airline closer to the public service community in Sarawak. The Deputy Director of the General Administration Unit in the Chief Minister Department, En. Mohd Faizal Hj Alias; and State Deputy Director of the Accountant General’s Department of Malaysia (JANM), Puan Brenda Majaran, graciously attended the event and accompanied by AirAsia Berhad Head of Government Business Development & Charter Mohd Fauzi Rajab and AirAsia Berhad Station Head in Kuching Azizah Ariffin.
Kuching was chosen as the second location for the AirAsia WPUA Carnival in East Malaysia this year after Kota Kinabalu, which was held recently on 10th June. State government officers and staff were given the opportunity to know more about the airline’s services and products at the carnival. Exclusively catered WPUA in-flight meals, route network, airline activities, merchandises and others were showcased, while its partner Tune Insurance provided attendees with more insight on its coverage plans especially for WPUA travel. About 800 state government employees attended the event.
AirAsia’s WPUA is a special flyer program which caters to members of government agencies and statutory bodies. In line with the government’s call to promote prudent spending, WPUA is specially designed by AirAsia with the lowest cost in mind, to allow government servants to travel and perform their duties to the public with full effectiveness and without the worry of excessive costs.
