Checked baggage

Other than the free cabin baggage allowance, our low fares don’t come with checked baggage allowance. If you’ve purchased Value Pack or booked a Premium Flex or Premium Flatbed fare, a checked baggage allowance is included in your booking depending on the fare type.

We have a range of checked baggage allowances for you to pre-book. You can pre-book up to 4 hours before your flight via your BIG Member account or during web check-in.

All flights except those to/from the United States

Each checked baggage must not exceed 319cm in overall dimension (height + width + depth) and weigh no more than 32kg.

Baggage weight allowances available for pre-book are:
Domestic - 15kg, 20kg, 25kg, 30kg and 40kg
International - 20kg, 25kg, 30kg and 40kg

There are no limits to how many pieces of baggage you can check in as long as they are within the baggage weight allowance.

If you didn’t pre-book checked baggage allowance, you can still purchase it at the airport counter but it’s only limited to 15kg and will cost more as airport baggage fees apply.

Excess baggage fees will be charged per kg and per flight segment (for connecting flights) for overweight baggage

Or avoid all the hassle, and just pre-book your checked baggage allowance.

If you are checking in golf sets, surfboards, bicycles, skis/snowboards, cricket equipment, and diving gear, you will need to pre-book sports equipment allowance .
