Fly Smarter

Time is money.
In 2015, we hit an 85% On Time Performance – a world-class reliability record not just for
low-cost airlines, but all airlines. Our aircraft aren’t parked at airports waiting for optimal
travel times for business passengers.
Less downtime and great On Time Performance means less airport parking charges and
more time to carry more passengers, making the most of our aircraft.

We're kind of a big deal.
We have strong bargaining power with vendors, suppliers, airport authorities and aircraft manufacturers, meaning big savings, which help give you a low fare. For example, AirAsia is the biggest customer of Airbus which means we getter a better deal for our aircraft.

Less is more.
We manage our in-flight meal and drinks inventory closely, for service efficiency and
low wastage. Why cook for everyone on a red eye when most of the plane wants to sleep?

Love that new plane smell.
We fly only the world's most modern aircraft with an average age of no more than five years.

With 400 new planes on order, the new planes will mean better fuel efficiency, lower noise and emission levels, less maintenance and superior levels of comfort.

Using a single fleet range and aircraft manufacturer means efficiencies in training, maintenance and safety procedures, all to world standards.

Only pay for what you want.
Extras like additional luggage, entertainment, drinks and meals, and seat selection are there, but only if you want them.
We don’t set your luggage allowance, which means you choose what suits you best.
You can even choose up to a massive 40kg. Carry that with other airlines, and you’d be stung
with excess rates by the kilo.

Light entertainment anyone?
Seat back entertainment systems on an aircraft put a heavy load on fuel costs. So why not load your own movies on to your own tablet or laptop. Or hire one of our tablets with the latest movies, games and TV shows.

More than Chicken or Beef.
Choose from over 20 meal options before you fly and tell us whether you want it at the start of the flight or at the end. Or both!

The World's Best. Again.
The Skytrax Awards are the Oscars of the world’s airline industry. Every year, Skytrax compiles the world’s largest passenger satisfaction report reviewing over 200 airlines and surveying travellers from 160 countries.
This year, 14 million people voted us the World’s Best Low Cost Airline for the eighth year
in a row – a record, unmatched by any airline in any category.

But wait, there’s more.
We also won World’s Best Low-Cost Premium Cabin and World’s Best Low-Cost
Premium Seat for the fourth year running.

World's best is what we strive for.
We are an airline with low-cost travel at its core. We’re not weighed down by a legacy of waste and high-cost routes.

We have a flat management structure with a hands-on senior management team meaning an efficient business and a culture of safety, openness and innovation.

By operating only Airbus aircraft, it means pilots, engineers and cabin crew are all specialised in one aircraft type, meaning crew and aircraft are interchangeable.

Our pilots and cabin crew are trained at the Asian Aviation Centre of Excellence – one of the world’s premier institutions in aviation training.

In a culture of open feedback, our crew are rewarded if they find ways to lower costs – pilots are rewarded when suggesting optimal flight paths and speeds to optimize fuel burn.

Bigger is better.
We have the biggest network in Asia – more routes, destinations and operational hubs than any other airline in the region.

With a spider web of destinations, it means there’s no backtracking to explore everything
Asia has to offer.

It's amazing how quickly your AirAsia BIG loyalty points will soon add up.

Flat-out affordable.
We were the first low-cost airline to introduce Premium Fly Flat Beds, so you can stretch out for the same cost of flying economy with other airlines.

Something to not shout about.
We were also the first airline to add a child free Quiet Zone cabin on long haul flights.

Fancy a cappuccino or long black?
Right now we’re trialling skilled baristas on some of our planes. Plus, we have many more innovations to come to enhance our guests in-flight experience.

More room for legroom.
No First Class cabin or big galleys means more room for economy, so fuel costs are split amongst more people. But, this is not at the expense of legroom. In fact, our A330 economy seats have the same legroom as the big expensive airlines.

For even more legroom why not book a Hot Seat. Or even better still, fly flat in the world’s best low-cost premium seats as voted by passengers.

All our economy seats are leather and come with movable headrests for superior comfort.

And with no wiring for seatback in-flight entertainment, it means more room under the seat
for your legs.
