The Malaysian Investor Relations Association Berhad (MIRA) recognised AirAsia Berhad as the winner of the ‘Best Investor Relations Website (Mid Cap)’ award for 2013, presented at the Third Malaysia Investor Relations Awards Ceremony today.
AirAsia Berhad’s CEO Aireen Omar and Investor Relations Manager Benyamin Ismail attended the event, held at Hotel Istana in Kuala Lumpur.
Aireen said, “As we expand our business and grow stronger in each market we operate in, maintaining a high degree of transparency and good corporate governance is crucial. Maintaining stringent IR standards is imperative to ensure the confidence of our stakeholders, in supporting further IR initiatives and business growth plans.
“A consistent communication platform is important to be effectively in touch with our stakeholders globally. It is the complete confidence in our practices and IR fundamentals which makes us a leader in the aviation industry and recognised as the world’s best. Thank you to MIRA for the honour. The award was presented to AirAsia Berhad by the CEO of Bursa Malaysia, Dato’ Tajuddin Atan.
Established in June 2007 by Bursa Malaysia and funded by the Capital Market Development Fund, MIRA is the first and only professional association committed to promote good practice of IR by public listed companies. MIRA also plays an important role in developing and advancing the professional development of IR practitioners in Malaysia.
On a different note, AirAsia was selected by HR Asia Magazine as the proud recipient of the ‘Best Companies to Work for in Asia 2013’ award on Tuesday, 2 July 2013.
AirAsia Berhad Country Head of People Department, Zamrah Ismail and Head of IR and Compliance (People) Khairul Nizam Mahyiden represented the airline and accepted the award from HR Asia at a ceremony held at the Intercontinental Hotel in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
Zamrah said, “We are feeling ecstatic over this win as we have been putting in great effort to make AirAsia the best company to work in. Rarely seen in other Asian companies, we have an open concept in place where employees are treated equally and are not separated by rank or position.
