AirAsia supports MAKNA Klimb Kinabalu 2016

13 climbers including 4 AirAsia Allstars to scale Mt Kinabalu as a symbol of hope to all cancer fighters and survivors in the country while raising funds for MAKNA

13 climbers for the MAKNA Klimb Kinabalu 2016 expedition, including 4 AirAsia Allstars (employees) arrived in Kota Kinabalu on flight AK5108 yesterday, and received a warm welcome by AirAsia employees

AirAsia continues to support cancer cause by sponsoring 13 climbers for the MAKNA Klimb Kinabalu 2016 expedition who will scale Mount Kinabalu to raise funds for MAKNA (National Cancer Council of Malaysia) and show support towards cancer awareness. The climbers, including 4 AirAsia Allstars (employees) arrived in Kota Kinabalu on flight AK5108 yesterday, and received a warm welcome by AirAsia employees.

As one of the key supporters of MAKNA, AirAsia is pleased to be the travel partner supporting all climbers' flights to Kota Kinabalu.

“The commitment shown by each of the climbers is at once inspiring and humbling,” says Farahida Mohd Farid, General Manager of MAKNA. “Whether they are volunteers who signed up for the climb to help raise funds for cancer patients or those whose lives’ have been touched by cancer, be it directly or indirectly, we are grateful for their support.” Klimb Kinabalu 2016 aims to raise a total of RM100,000, which will go towards funding a range of services MAKNA provides to aid cancer patients in the lower income groups.

Ealier this week, AirAsia launched the second edition of its #AirAsiaMAKNA campaign, to help raise funds for the cancer patients and educate Malaysians on the perils of the illness. The airline will be contributing 10 cents of each flight booking made on www.airasia.com from 15 August - 16 September 2016 to MAKNA.
