Kota Kinabalu tourist arrivals to thrive on AirAsia’s commencement of flights from Wuhan, China

KOTA KINABALU, 22 JANUARY 2016

The city of Kota Kinabalu is set to receive more tourist arrivals from China with the commencement of AirAsia’s flights from Wuhan into Kota Kinabalu today.

The airline celebrated the inaugural flight of this new route, which is operated exclusively by AirAsia, with a send-off ceremony for the Kota Kinabalu to Wuhan flight which took off today at 6.55PM with over 70 percent flight load; while the Wuhan – Kota Kinabalu flights is expected to arrive tomorrow morning at 4.05AM with a close 100% full flight load.

Yang Berhormat Datuk Seri Panglima Masidi Manjun, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment for Sabah; Yang Berbahagia Datuk Joniston Bangkuai, Chairman of Sabah Tourism Board; Yang Berbahagia Datuk Irene Charuruks, General Manager of Sabah Tourism Board were present to send-off the guests of AirAsia’s inaugural flight to Wuhan, China from Kota Kinabalu International Airport; accompanied by Spencer Lee, Head of Commercial for AirAsia Berhad.
