Scam Alert: New scam misusing the AirAsia brand

SEPANG, 27 MAY 2016

AirAsia Berhad would like to alert the public regarding a scam that has been circulating via email and chat messenger apps such as Whatsapp citing that the airline has set up an education foundation offering students scholarship opportunities to study at Epsom College Malaysia.

The email and Whatsapp messages request for the public to send in details of their children along with UPSR 2015 results to sanykpp@yahoo.com and stated that successful applicants will begin their term at Epsom College Malaysia this September.

AirAsia would like to confirm that this is a scam which uses the AirAsia brand without authorisation, to lure the public to participate in its scheme. We advise the public to disregard such invitations and AirAsia shall not be held liable for any claims pertaining to the false scheme.

AirAsia does not enlist third party services in organizing our activities and official announcements are made via official channels such as credible mass media and our official social media channels at all times.

We will not hesitate to take legal action against individuals or groups who organise illegal schemes using the AirAsia brand, and a police report has been lodged with regards to this scam.
