AirAsia welcomed students from Sekolah Kebangsaan Satak and
treated them with an opportunity to experience the aviation industry with a visit to the Aviation Centre of
Excellence (AACE) today, apart from viewing the brand new livery of an AirAsia X Airbus A330 aircraft.
The group of 40 students from the Orang Asli community were able to meet and interact with many
professionals in the industry including pilots, cabin crew, engineers as well as corporate staff. The
primary school students also had an interactive session with AirAsia Berhad Chief Executive Officer, Ms
Aireen Omar who encouraged them to study smart and pursue their dreams.
During the visit, the students were given a chance to observe aircraft simulators where pilots undergo
training. Additionally, they were able to experience emergency evacuation procedures for aircraft, as well
as observe safety training by the cabin crew while touring the Aviation Centre of Excellence (AACE).
The 2-day visit is part of AirAsia’s continuous effort to empower youth around the country. Over 5000
students have been invited to experience a glimpse of the aviation industry with AirAsia over the years.
Students from the Orang Asli community will be treated to a night stay at Tune Hotels and they are
scheduled to visit Kidzania in Mutiara Damansara for an interactive learning experience tomorrow.
