Sepang, 13 March 2013 AirAsia is shifting its flight operations in Kolkata to the New Integrated Terminal Building (NITB), Terminal 2, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) Airport, effective from 14 March 2013. From the effective date onwards, flights from and to Kuala Lumpur’s Low Cost Carrier Terminal (KUL) and Bangkok’s Don Mueang (DMK) will be fully utilizing the Terminal 2 of the New Integrated Terminal Building (NITB) in Kolkata. All guests flying to/from Kolkata have been informed by the airline of the change via email and SMS.
All guests travelling outbound from Kolkata are advised to be at the new terminal at least 3 hours prior to departure and clear all travel formalities as early as possible, as non-familiarization of travel processes and procedures at the new terminal may result in congestion. However, AirAsia’s staff will be at hand to assist guests and ensure a smooth transition to the new terminal. AirAsia operates daily flight AK1242 from Kolkata to Kuala Lumpur departing at 17:40hrs (GMT +5.5) and AK1241 from Kuala Lumpur to Kolkata departing at 15:35hrs (GMT+8). Apart from the 195,000-sq. metre, five-level integrated passenger terminal building, the new facility also offers modern taxiways and extended runway, capable of handling bigger aircraft such as the Airbus A380.
